Congratulations to Mercy Junior Nola Marrero! Nola was selected for a fully funded week long program at USC. The Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) at USC is a prestigious, week-long summer program designed to empower high-achieving Latino high school juniors with the tools, confidence, and resources to become future leaders. The program focuses on college readiness, personal growth, and professional development through workshops, mentoring, and networking opportunities with peers and professionals. Getting accepted into YLI is highly competitive—it requires strong academic performance, thoughtful personal essays, a commitment to community service, and a clear passion for leadership.

Nola said, “I put a lot of heart into my application, sharing my story, goals, and why giving back matters.”

Nola is an amazing young woman and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her! Way to go, Nola, we are so proud of you!
