Mercy Day began with a very special Mercy tradition... the Senior Pinning Ceremony!

Congratulations to the Mount Mercy Academy Class of 2027!

Each senior was presented with a beautiful gold Mount Mercy Academy pin featuring our Mercy seal, marking the beginning of their senior year and this important milestone in their Mercy journey.

As we celebrate this year’s Mercy Day theme, Rooted in Mercy, these pins are a meaningful reminder of the deep roots that connect our seniors to the Mount Mercy community and to the legacy of Catherine McAuley and the Sisters of Mercy.

In October, our seniors will receive their Mercy Shield pin, a crest adapted from the historical coat of arms of the Sisters of Mercy. More than a symbol, the shield represents our shared heritage, values, and commitment to carrying Catherine McAuley’s legacy of compassion, service, faith, and care for others forward.

Surrounded by faculty and classmates, our seniors proudly received their pins, a visible sign of leadership, unity, and the special role they hold within our Mercy family. They will proudly wear their pins on their uniforms throughout the year.

What a beautiful way to begin Mercy Day and celebrate the incredible young women of the Class of 2027! We are so proud of you!

Rooted in Mercy. Ready to Lead.

What a lovely milestone to celebrate! Recognition ceremonies like this show how much encouragement, commitment and support matter in helping people reach their goals. As a HLTA teaching assistant workign in the UK schooling system and even colleges, I feel this also connects with Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant units answers, particularly promoting positive learning environments, supporting pupils’ personal development and recognising individual achievements. A useful tip for teaching assistants is to celebrate small steps of progress, not just final results, as this can boost confidence and motivate learners who may be struggling. Sometimes, a few words of encouragement can make a lasting difference and help someone believe in their own potential. How can we make sure every learner…

I enjoyed reading this post about the senior class receiving their Mercy pins. It sounds like a meaningful moment that celebrates the students’ time, growth, and connection with their school community. It reminded me of working on a school-related project where I used Web Development Service to organize information and make the page easier to use. Experiences like this show how small milestones can create lasting memories.

The detail that seniors receive two distinct pins, first the Mercy seal and later the Mercy Shield, is interesting because it suggests a deliberate progression rather than a single ceremony. I wonder whether the October shield pin carries a different meaning for students, perhaps tied more to leadership or heritage than belonging. Does the school explain that distinction to seniors, or is it left for them to interpret as the year unfolds?

Receiving senior-class pins is a lovely milestone because it marks both the progress students have made and the final stage of their school journey. Traditions like this can make graduation year feel more memorable and give the whole class a stronger sense of belonging. After reading positive school stories like this, I sometimes switch to something lighter and browse a bit of online entertainment for a change of pace.
