Some of our seniors participated in a meaningful Life Discovery Interview recently with Sister Peggy Gorman, Sister of Mercy and Mercy alum, Class of 1960. The interview was beautifully led by senior Emma Godsoe, who asked thoughtful and insightful questions that helped bring Sister Peggy’s story to life.

Sister Peggy shared her journey to becoming a Sister of Mercy, reflected on her early years working in education, and spoke passionately about her work in the healthcare field. She also reminisced about her days at Mount Mercy and discussed how much has changed over the years. Her stories gave our students a deeper understanding of religious life and a newfound appreciation for the incredible women who dedicate their lives to service.

At the conclusion of the interview, all students had the opportunity to ask questions, and they asked fantastic ones! Sister Peggy generously shared advice for young women, speaking candidly about faith, purpose, and leadership. A true champion for educating and empowering young women, Sister Peggy inspired everyone in the room.

The girls truly loved the interview and enjoyed Sister Peggy’s warmth, wisdom, and company. We are so thankful and blessed to have the Sisters of Mercy living and working right next door, and we are incredibly grateful to Sister Peggy for taking the time to be with us. We loved every moment of this experience!

Listen to Sister Peggy share her amazing advice with our students!
