Mount Mercy's project-based learning curriculum provides us with the flexibility to invite industry professionals to speak directly to our students. This unique opportunity allows students to learn firsthand from experts in the field while building meaningful connections. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Honorable Judge Erin Hart (Erie County Commissioner of Jurors), Commissioner Dr. Christine Farrow, and Mary Mallette Struebel ’84 (Assistant Court Analyst and proud Mercy alum!) for speaking to our Participation in Government classes. Their presentation focused on educating our seniors about their civic responsibilities—particularly the importance of jury service. They offered valuable insights into the jury selection process, the significance of jury diversity, and how trials function. Our students were highly engaged and asked thoughtful, insightful questions. It was an incredible and impactful experience—thank you again to our amazing presenters!
