Big Win for Mercy Flag Football: Nola Marrero Earns First College Offer

Congratulations to rising senior Nola Marrero!

Nola just received her first official offer to play collegiate flag football at Defiance College in Ohio!

Defiance is part of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) — which means scholarship opportunities are available! This is a huge step, not just for Nola, but for our whole Mercy flag football program.

Did you know? Flag football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, especially for girls. More and more colleges are offering it — and with it, new opportunities for scholarships and competition at the next level!

This is only the second year of our program, and this spring will be our first season as an official varsity sport in the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association. The excitement is real — and we cannot wait to see Nola lead the way!

Coach Matt Ondesko said it best, “I cannot wait to get to work with this amazing group of girls. We have a lot of exciting things planned for the season.”
