Softball Defeats CSAT

Writer: Tina WebsterTina Webster

Congrats! Mercy Softball won their second game in row beating CSAT by a score of 14-13 and improving their record to 2-3 on the season.

Freshman Kayla Davis stayed hot at the plate, adding two more hits including a huge RBI double and totaled 4 RBIs. Freshmen Grace Colin, Abigale Herdman, Natalie McOwen, Madelyn Matthews and Sophomore Riley Coughlin all had hits. Natalie McOwen came in relief and pitched 5 and 1/3 innings only allowing 3 hits and 2 runs.

From Coach Kyle Anderson, "Two in a row! We came into the game without Taylor who is our only pitcher. We were also missing 2 other starters. Our team showed great resilience and positive spirit, volunteering to try to pitch, not giving up when we went down early because of difficulty pitching, and completing the come back."

Way to go Mercy!! The girls take the diamond next on Tuesday, April 30th at 4:30pm against Nichols at Caz Park.
