Mount Mercy Academy was thrilled to bring 20 sophomores from our Science and Healthcare Academy to Science Exploration Day at the University at Buffalo (UB North Campus)!

For over 30 years, this incredible annual event has inspired Western New York high school students to explore careers in STEM; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This year, UB hosted over 850 high school students, and we are proud to be part of such an impactful experience.

Our students had an incredible day engaging in hands-on sessions, keynote presentations, lab tours, and interactive demonstrations led by scientists, engineers, and healthcare professionals. From artificial intelligence and robotics to genetics, biotechnology, and anatomy, they were immersed in exciting, real-world science experiences that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm.

They couldn’t stop talking about everything they learned and experienced! In addition to the academic enrichment, students were given the freedom to navigate a college campus on their own, an important life lesson that helped build confidence and independence.

We are proud to offer opportunities like this to our students and to support their growth both inside and outside the classroom. A special thank you to our Science Academy moderator, Ms. Kim Rauscher, for making this memorable experience possible!
