In celebration of Women’s History Month, Mount Mercy Academy was honored to welcome an inspiring guest speaker, Assistant U.S. Attorney Maeve Huggins.
Since joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2021, Ms. Huggins has worked on a wide range of complex cases, including white-collar and general crimes. Her work spans critical areas such as human trafficking, child exploitation, and civil rights. She currently serves as the Human Trafficking Coordinator for the office and is an active member of the Western District of New York Human Trafficking Task Force.
This special visit was also a Life Discovery Interview, thoughtfully facilitated and conducted by our Mercy students, an experience that made the conversation even more meaningful and empowering.
Her presentation was nothing short of incredible... informative, powerful, and deeply impactful. Our students were fully engaged, asking insightful questions and demonstrating a genuine curiosity about her work and the path she has taken.
We are truly grateful to Ms. Huggins for taking the time to speak with our school community. Experiences like this bring our mission to life. At Mount Mercy Academy, we are committed to empowering young women, and providing them with opportunities like this shows our students firsthand that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
