Introducing Our Class of 2025 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Mount Mercy Academy is proud to introduce the outstanding young women at the top of our graduating Class of 2025. Please join us in congratulating this year’s Salutatorian, Isabelle Reaska, and Valedictorian, Gabrielle Bauerlein!

Both Gabrielle and Isabelle began their academic journey with us after graduating from St. John Vianney School. Over the past four years, they have exemplified what it means to be Mercy women—driven, compassionate, and committed to excellence in all they do.

Valedictorian: Gabrielle Bauerlein

With the highest overall cumulative GPA in the Class of 2025, Gabrielle Bauerlein has earned the distinguished honor of Valedictorian. We are so proud of Gabby’s consistent hard work, dedication, and integrity, which have been hallmarks of her time at Mercy. Gabby is a truly exceptional student and a confident, compassionate leader in our school community. She will attend Nazareth University in the fall, where she plans to study Occupational Therapy, a field that reflects her desire to support and uplift others.

Throughout her years at Mercy, Gabby has been named to the Honor Roll, recognized as a McAuley Scholar, and designated an AP Scholar with Honors. She has received numerous scholarships and academic awards. She has served as Vice President of the National Honor Society and has contributed to a wide variety of student organizations and enrichment programs. Gabby has participated in the Art Club, the Visual Arts Academy, and the Science and Healthcare Academy. She is also a member of the Leadership Academy, the Merciette school newspaper team, the Announcements Team, Student Government, and Campus Ministry, where she regularly reads at school Masses. Her love of literature and reflection has also led her to join the Book Club and Yearbook team.

Outside of school, Gabby is an accomplished dancer and serves as a dance class assistant, where she enjoys mentoring and encouraging young students. She also participates in numerous service and community projects, both through Mercy and on her own. One of the most meaningful experiences for Gabby has been volunteering at her alma mater, St. John Vianney. “This has been meaningful because I have been able to give back to a community that shaped much of my early life,” she shared.

Salutatorian: Isabelle Reaska

With the second-highest cumulative GPA, Isabelle Reaska has been named the Salutatorian of the Class of 2025. Izzy is a phenomenal, well-rounded student who consistently goes above and beyond—not just academically, but in every part of student life. She will be attending Villanova University in the fall to study Pre-Law and International Studies, with a focus on Spanish. Her ultimate goal is to pursue a career in politics, and there is no doubt she is on a path to make a lasting impact.

Izzy has been a pillar of leadership and involvement at Mount Mercy. She currently serves as Student Body President and President of the National Honor Society. She is a McAuley Scholar and has also been a prominent member of the Leadership Academy, the Communications Academy, and the Women in Social Sciences program. In addition, she co-edits the school yearbook, the Mercienne, and is an active part of the Announcements Team, Speech and Debate, and Student Ambassadors. She is also a dedicated student-athlete, competing on both the Tennis and Track & Field teams.

At our recent Baccalaureate Mass, Izzy was honored with the Latisha James Civic Ambassador Award, a recognition of her exceptional leadership and commitment to community engagement. Reflecting on her time at Mercy, she shared, “Spanish Independent Study taught me to continue to pursue my interests and is getting me increasingly more interested in continuing with the study of the language. Student Government taught me responsibility and time management.”

Head of School Michele Melligan shared her admiration for both students, stating, “Both Gabby and Izzy are incredible young women, who have contributed immensely to the Mercy community throughout their four years. We are so proud of them and cannot wait to witness their future success. We will certainly miss them!”

Gabrielle and Isabelle have left a lasting legacy at Mount Mercy Academy. Their academic achievements, leadership, and service represent the very best of what it means to be a Mercy woman. We congratulate them wholeheartedly and look forward to seeing the amazing things they will accomplish in the years ahead.
