Last Honors Assembly for the Class of 2026
Our Honors Assembly celebrated the incredible accomplishments, leadership, dedication, and service of the members of the Class of 2026. Throughout the ceremony, seniors were recognized for their hard work and commitment both inside and outside the classroom, reflecting the spirit of Mercy in all they do.
Students were honored for outstanding achievement and commitment across every academic subject area, while Student Government representatives and officers were recognized for their leadership and service to our school community. Awards were also presented for excellence and participation in Mock Trial, Model UN, Creative Writing, Theater, and Attendance.
Students who successfully completed the coursework and service requirements for our six Academies received cords to wear with their cap and gown at graduation. In addition, students in the Academy of Science and Healthcare were proudly presented with white coats in recognition of their dedication, achievement, and future aspirations in science fields.
Congratulations to Olivia Gorczyca, recipient of the Senior Athlete of the Year Award, presented to a senior who exemplifies athletic excellence, sportsmanship, leadership, and character.
The ceremony also included the announcement of three of our highest academic honors. Congratulations to Lauren Szpylman, selected as our Baccalaureate Speaker and recognized as the third highest-ranking member of the senior class. Congratulations to Claire Rogan, our Salutatorian, awarded to the student with the second highest academic standing in the graduating class. And finally, congratulations to Emma Godsoe, our Valedictorian. As the final award of the ceremony, we honored Emma for achieving one of the highest distinctions a student can earn. All three students have demonstrated exceptional dedication, intellectual rigor, and a sustained commitment to excellence.
We are so proud of the entire Class of 2026. These young women are hardworking, compassionate, service-minded, and empowered women of Mercy who are ready to make a difference in the world.
