Mount Mercy Academy proudly announces the Class of 2026 Valedictorian!
With the highest cumulative GPA in the Class of 2026, Emma Godsoe has earned the distinguished honor of Valedictorian. We are incredibly proud of Emma’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence, which have defined her time at Mount Mercy. She is an exceptional student and a confident, driven leader who has made a lasting impact on the Mercy community.
Emma will be attending Providence College in the fall, where she plans to study History on a Pre-Law track. She has been selected as a member of the Honors Program and is the recipient of the prestigious St. Joseph’s Scholarship. Her academic success has also earned her recognition as a McAuley Scholar and an AP Scholar with Honor, along with over $776,000 in merit scholarship offers.
Throughout her time at Mercy, Emma has demonstrated outstanding leadership and involvement. She has served as President of the National Honor Society, Lead Attorney for Mock Trial, and Captain of the Varsity Soccer team. Emma also played Varsity Lacrosse all four years and helped found the Model United Nations team. She is an active member of the Women in the Social Sciences Academy and the Business Academy, and contributes to the school community as a Student Ambassador, member of Campus Ministry, and a Sisters of Mercy Companion.
Outside of school, Emma has pursued her passion for a future in law through her work as an intern with the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, as well as through summer law programs at Georgetown University and Harvard University. She is also dedicated to serving others, volunteering her time baking for residents and outreach programs at Grace Guest House. In addition, Emma works as a ski instructor, mentoring and supporting young children.
Emma’s leadership and character have been recognized through numerous honors, including the Catherine McAuley Annual Scholarship and the Coach’s Character Award from both her soccer and lacrosse coaches, a reflection of her dedication, integrity, and commitment to her teammates.
Emma Godsoe has truly exemplified what it means to be a Mercy woman through her academic excellence, leadership, and service. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and look forward to seeing the incredible impact she will make in the years ahead. Congratulations, Emma!
