Mercy Honors Awards
The Mount Mercy Academy Sports Hall of Fame
The distinction of being named an inductee into the Mount Mercy Academy Sports Hall of Fame will bestowed on individuals who accomplished outstanding athletic achievements during their time at Mercy. In addition to athletics, recipients will be those who have represented themselves in good character both professionally and in their community and shown a commitment to Catholic and Mercy values and sportsmanship.
The Sister Sally Walz Memorial Award
is presented to a woman, strong in Faith, who is distinguished in her family and career, a woman who shares her talent with the Mount Mercy Academy community, a volunteer who brings that generosity of time and talent that marked Sister Sally’s life. This award is given to an alumna who, like Sister Sally, has “an expansive heart that is always welcoming and a generosity of time and talent for what needs to be done.”
The Mercy Devotion Award
is presented to a faculty or staff member at the Academy who has served as an inspiration for, and has earned the respect and admiration of students and colleagues over the years.
The Spirit of Mercy Award
is an annual presentation of Mount Mercy Academy to those who exhibit the Spirit of Mercy in their professional and personal lives. The recipients are honored for their outstanding commitment and dedication to their community.
The Catherine McAuley Distinguished Alumna Award
is presented to an alumna of Mount Mercy Academy who has distinguished herself as a woman of faith, knowledge, integrity and compassion. A woman whose accomplishments in all areas of her life - family, community, career - reflect the legacy and mission of Catherine McAuley, the Foundress of the Sisters of
Mercy.
