Scholarship Donation

by Pat Burns

Mount Mercy Academy has received a generous donation from The Franciscan Heritage Foundation. The group was founded in 2018 after several board members of the original Franciscan Center in South Buffalo initiated a new foundation to carry on the Franciscan tradition of generosity and benevolence.

Since that formation, The Franciscan Heritage Foundation has donated more than $ 75,000 to Catholic grammar schools and high schools across Western New York.  Mount Mercy will use the money for scholarships for deserving students.

"Mercy is more than just a school. Mercy is my second home and a shoulder to lean on. Mount Mercy has given me the confidence and resources to pursue my passions and make the world a more inclusive place, propelling me to take strides into male-dominated fields. Mercy blessed me with an environment to grow intellectually and in the community, giving me the foundation to make a tangible impact while making lifelong friendships."
