Mock Trial Team Competes

The young and inexperienced Mount Mercy Academy Mock Trial team competed recently.  The team faced Williamsville North and represented the defense.  Senior Dominique Khoury (Buffalo) and juniors Megan Amicone (Buffalo) and Isabella Maloney (Lakeview) served as lawyers.  Junior Madison Serafini (Buffalo) and sophomores Addison Barth (Hamburg) and Charli Debose (Buffalo) portrayed witnesses. Despite the loss, Coach Steve McCrea was pleased with his team's performance.

The team also faced off against Orchard Park, this time as the prosecution.  Despite a strong effort, the team lost. Juniors Jill Schneck, Catherine Klodzinski and Alexis Garmong of Buffalo represented Mount Mercy as lawyers.  Three freshmen, Novella Keem and Abby Kopf of East Aurora, and Isabelle Reaska of Orchard Park played the role of witnesses.

"Mercy is more than just a school. Mercy is my second home and a shoulder to lean on. Mount Mercy has given me the confidence and resources to pursue my passions and make the world a more inclusive place, propelling me to take strides into male-dominated fields. Mercy blessed me with an environment to grow intellectually and in the community, giving me the foundation to make a tangible impact while making lifelong friendships."
