Mount Mercy Participates in the 716 Day of Giving

Mount Mercy Academy, accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and a member of both the Mercy Secondary Education Association and the Network for Mercy Education, is participating in this year’s 716 Day of Giving.  The school, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy and which has been in existence for almost 120 years, is hoping to raise funds to establish the Mount Mercy Athletics Academy. Mount Mercy Academy is restructuring the Physical Education and Health program to an all-encompassing wellness-based curriculum.  The academy activities will be designed as Project-Based Learning in order to provide cross-curricular opportunities for all students.

Interested donors should visit Give716.org to support Mount Mercy Academy’s Athletic Academy which will have a focused curriculum, access to expertise within the field, connections to the community, and an independent identity within the Mount Mercy community, a “school within a school”.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
