Mount Mercy Holds Its Annual Mother-Daughter Mass and Breakfast

Although it was a little bit different than in the past due to Covid-19, Mount Mercy was still able to hold its annual Mother Daughter Mass and Breakfast, a beloved tradition of the school.  The morning began with a mass at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna.  Sophomore Catherine Klodzinski (Buffalo)and senior Megan Reilly (Buffalo)proclaimed the readings.

After the mass the mothers and daughters traveled to The Columns for a buffet style breakfast.  Before breakfast began, seniors Angelina Larivey and her mother Angela of Lackawanna and Mary Snyder and her mother Abby of Buffalo gave a reflection about mothers and daughters and the benefits of an education at Mount Mercy Academy.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
