Mount Mercy Holds Its Second Quarter Honors Assembly

Mount Mercy held its annual Honors Assembly last week. Forty students who achieved Second Honors (90.0-94.99) received their honor cards during the program. Sixty-two First Honors (95.0 and above) and thirty-three Merit Roll honor cards (85.0-89.99) were presented in homeroom.

The guidance department presented The Mother Frances Warde Award to the student in each grade whose average improved the most from first quarter to second quarter. Senior Caitlyn Robertson (Depew), junior Kate Ryan (Buffalo), sophomore Grace Spero (Buffalo) and freshman Samantha Benes (Buffalo) were honored this quarter.

Members of the basketball, cheerleading, bowling and hockey teams received their participation awards. The winter scholar athletes also received their recognition for maintaining an average of at least 90% during the quarter they were on an athletic team.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
