Mount Mercy Musicians Perform in All-County Chorus

Three Mount Mercy Academy freshmen were selected and performed with the Erie County Music Educators Association (ECMEA) Junior High All-County Chorus.

After auditioning with seventh, eighth and ninth grade students from both public and private schools in southern Erie County, three Mount Mercy students will be in the 125 voice choir. Representing Mount Mercy were Buffalo resident RaeAnna Gott, Blasdell resident Riley Kavulak and Adrianna Awald of Gowanda.

The group performed a concert on March 16th at East Aurora High School.

The students are members of the Freshman Chorus which is directed by Mount Mercy’s longtime music director Fred Kirisits.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
