Mount Mercy Golf Team Hopes to Drive to a Successful Season

The Mount Mercy Academy Golf team is pinning its hopes for a successful season on three returning golfers and four new golfers.  The team is coached by long time coach Kate Lynch, a successful golfer who once again won the Cazenovia Women’s League Individual title.

Returning for their second year on the golf team are seniors Chloe Diebold (West Seneca) and Haley George (Elma) and junior Xoie Ferrentino (West Seneca).  Lynch stated that all three have improved their games since last season and she is hoping that the improved play will continue throughout the season.  She expects Ferrentino to be the top returning golfer.

Freshman Izzy Radwan (West Seneca) , sophomore Olivia Radwan (West Seneca), junior Maddie DiGiore (Lakeview) and senior Ally Foy (Buffalo) are the newcomers to the team.  Lynch commented that the enthusiasm and eagerness of the four new players will help the team to succeed.  She feels that Izzy Radwan and DiGiore will play key roles this season.

Lynch is counting on constant improvement and increased concentration to lead the team to more victories this season.  The team opens its eight match season at home on September 6th against Sacred Heart.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
