Mercy Forensic Team Victory

by cnewman

Webster Schroeder High School in Webster, New York was the site of the Mount Mercy Forensic team's latest victory. Placing second to a much larger Webster team, Mercy placed second with key wins by its core performers. Victoria Allen continued her streak of first places wins in Dramatic Performance. Isabella Spann and Katie Weaver placed second in Dramatic Duo performing their interpretation of Aristophanes' comedy Lysistrata. Freshman Joelle Wagner placed third in Declamation and Sarah Emmerling was also third in Oral Interpretation of Literature.

The team travels to Canisius High School tournament on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Traditionally, the Canisius tournament is the major tournament of the season. Mercy is expected to do very well and be a strong contender.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
