                                Weekly Sports Round-Up 10/26/21

The Mount Mercy Cross Country team continued to work hard, competing against opponents and Mother Nature, as the course conditions were extremely wet and muddy.  The team lost to a strong Sacred Heart team and battled Nichols in a close meet, losing 34-21.

Sophomore Addison Barth (Hamburg) led the Magic, finishing fourth against Nichols with a time of 25:00.51.  Freshman Bella Scarcello (Buffalo) – see picture, continues to run well, finishing fifth against Nichols with a time of 26:00.  Junior Gemma McIlroy (Hamburg) placed sixth with a time of 26:18.88.

The team closes its regular season this week with a meet against Mount Saint Mary.

"Mount Mercy has taught me some of the most important things in my life and I am so grateful for that. I know that incorporating the principles of a woman of Mercy has made me the best version of myself. I can only hope that in the future, I will continue to grow and teach others the valuable lessons that I was taught at Mount Mercy. While I have learned so many things here, the greatest thing by far that I have learned is that DNA does not always make a family, love makes a family and that is exactly what I have gained here, a second family."
