Meet Our Admissions Director
Future MMA Students and Parents:
As you begin your journey into high school, let me welcome you to the hallways and classrooms of Mount Mercy Academy. As Admissions Director, Alumna and mother of two daughters who attend or have attended Mount Mercy, I am excited that you have decided to learn more about this wonderful high school for young women.
As the Admissions Director
at MMA for 10
years, I have watched shy, young girls transform into outgoing
and confident young women who are well-prepared and ready for college and any
other adventure that comes their way. Mount Mercy not only educates each
student academically, but socially and spiritually, as well. The well-qualified
MMA faculty and staff are willing and enthused to work with every student as
she strives to reach her potential. Mount Mercy School Counselors not only help
students with college applications and career choices, but offer guidance on a
variety of life issues. I can assure you, throughout four years of high school
at MMA, all students are supported and encouraged by teachers and
administrators.
As an MMA Alumna, I am proud to be a "Mercy Girl". Mount Mercy has helped me to come out of my shell and become the person I am today. I personally have many fond memories of my four years as a student at Mercy. I treasure every one of them. I met my best friends at Mercy, friends with whom I am still in touch and get together with whenever we have the chance.
As a mother, there was no other choice but Mount Mercy for my daughters. I wanted them to have the same incredible experience that I had. I understand the financial sacrifices that must be made in order to send a daughter to Mercy, but I would not have it any other way. My oldest daughter told me that she would not have been able to survive college if it wasn't for having experienced block scheduling while at MMA.
I have always proudly worn my Mercy Ring. However, this year I have the honor to pass it on to my youngest daughter. My mother proudly wore her Mercy ring for 45 years. She gave up her ring so my oldest daughter could carry on the Mercy tradition in her honor.
What makes us different and unique? Students succeed here. Our statistics show that every young woman attending Mount Mercy will graduate and will attend a college or university.
I sincerely hope you choose Mount Mercy Academy. We welcome you.
Mrs. Jeanne Burvid, Director of Admissions
