Admission to Mount Mercy Academy is open to all young ladies who are seeking a challenging college preparatory program. At Mt. Mercy, you will experience new friendships, memories that will stay with you for a lifetime, and friendly faculty, staff and students. Educationally, you will begin your preparation for a successful transition to college and beyond.

Mount Mercy Academy offers 34 clubs that will allow you to develop skills, meet new people and make new friends.

Our Athletic department offers a wide range of interscholastic programs, which best serve the needs and interests of our students.

Students entering as FRESHMEN

Eighth grade students wishing to apply as a freshman to Mt. Mercy Academy are required to take the Catholic High School Entrance Exam.
|

All students must complete the Application for Admission. Applications are distributed to all Catholic grammar and elementary schools. If you did not receive an application, you can download the application.

All public and middle school students can call Mrs. Burvid at 825-8796 ext. 511 for an application, or e-mail your, name, address and phone number to jburvid@mtmercy.org, and an application will be mailed to you. You may also download the application. Applications are also available the day of the entrance exam.

Students who indicate Mount Mercy Academy as their first choice and take the exam at Mt. Mercy will be eligible for ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS. Students will also receive our TUITION ASSISTANCE PACKET on the day of the exam.

At Mount Mercy, a committee consisting of the Principal, Assistant Principal, our Counselors and the Director of Admissions will use the entrance exam, previous academic performance and recommendations of elementary or middle school teachers and principals to determine acceptance, placement in courses and eligibility for Academic Scholarships.

Students scoring below our requirements on the exam may be asked to come in for an interview or to attend our three week Mercy Prep Summer Program.

Students taking the Entrance Exam at Mt. Mercy should
|

1). Bring two number 2 pencils
|
|
|
2). Payment for the exam ($20 cash or check payable to Mount Mercy Academy) on exam day.

NO CALCULATORS WILL BE ALLOWED AT THE EXAM

1. If Mount Mercy Academy was indicated as a choice on the Application or the Entrance Exam, we will receive your test results.
|
|
2. All students that indicated Mount Mercy Academy on the Application or Entrance Exam will receive a Letter of Acceptance.
|
|
3. If Mount Mercy was your second choice and you wish to indicate Mount Mercy as your first choice, please call Jeanne Burvid at 825-8796 ext. 511.

|
4. You may request a Tuition Assistance Packet. Students that take the exam at Mt. Mercy will have top priority in receiving any assistance.

Students wishing to TRANSFER into Mt. Mercy Academy

All Transfer Students must complete and return our transfer application. Please call Mrs. Burvid at 825-8796 ext. 511 or e-mail your name, address and phone number to jburvid@mtmercy.org an application will be mailed to you. You can also download an application.

A committee composed of the Director of Admissions, a Counselor and an Administrator will review the application and interview the potential transfer student and parent/guardian.
|

Students will be accepted conditionally for a semester.
|

A transfer student’s grades from her previous high school(s), in addition to her Mt. Mercy grades will be used to calculate averages/class ranking used for college application purposes.
|

Only students who attend Mt. Mercy for all four years of high school are eligible to be named valedictorian or salutatorian.

All transfer students are required to complete the Msgr. Martin League Athletic application even if they do not play a sport.

Cost:$110.00, which includes the Arco Prep Book for the High School Entrance Exam and a snack.

Catholic High School Entrance Exam is scheduled for Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 8:30am until 12:00noon. If Mt Mercy Academy is your FIRST CHOICE school, you must take the exam at Mt. Mercy Academy. Students taking the exam at Mt. Mercy will be eligible for Academic Scholarship, Tuition Assistance and Work Study.

A shadow day at Mt. Mercy begins at 8:30am and ends at 2:00pm
